stack and two five inch turrets aft one behind the other There was no designation marked at any place on the after portion of the ship 'I'ho other vessel was a floating machine ohm similar to those used by the 11 5 amphibious forces It was of the barge tyne with vertical steel plate bulkheads rising from the main deck of the barge and broken only by ventilation holes approximately eight inches square 25x1 6 a Ostrov blinker 11g is located on this island There are also three radio-type masts one of which appeared to be radar equipment with screens perpendicular to the meet There are a lighthouse and too or three structures similar to barracks on the island Smite rising from at least six etacks behind the range of hills indicates the presence of eeme induetrial installations in that area -3 a radio nest is in evidence on this Jntting point a trench or emplacement in the form or an extended semi-circle fifteento twenty feet in diameter is located at this point A dirt parapet about three feet in height and three feet in width extends around the emplacement o The boxes indicate two heavy etructures apparently mode of concrete with seni- epherioal roofs One is about twenty feet high and the other is smaller These structures together with two nearby houses are visible both from seaward and from behind the peninsula Two enplaoenonts possibhr of con icts are located here with two tour-man tents nearby The enplaoenents appear to be able to accomdete 40m guns A radio nest is erected here with a temporary wooden structure located nearby 31 Four oil tanks are located Just behind the Jutting point shown here They are about twenty feet high and tweniw fi-re feet in diameter with seventy-five oil drone fifty five gallon nearby 1 An oil tanker of the small coastal type was docked here at the time of obse ation a catwalk alongside extended from amidshipo to a point about fifty feet inland J Four barrow-type structures have been built at this point one of the-m obviously new is of bright red brick Located on the top of the hill at this point are a small house a meet as indicated and a canola-like structure about twenty feet high of which the ccpola takes up about ten feet The cupole is apparently by supporting members extending from the base of the cnpolo to the apex On this point are six round roofed structures apparently of concrete each about fifteen to tweet- 1r feet high and thirty root in length They are camouflaged in green and arranged in a line running northwest by southeast separated only by a narrow passageway from each other More buildinaend equipment at this point are camouflaged in the some green color as the buildings noted in paragraph 1 An enact description or the equipment here is not poeeible due to difficulties of observation n Hero ship was picked up by an armed PC-type vessel with a gun mounted forward of the superstructure The forward third of the hell of this craft was 25x1 painted black and the after portions grey Irho apparently a naval auxiliary draft since she is painted in the some grey color however no markings were visible on the hull q About one hundred yards from thewater's edge is a very active area of railroad sidinge filled with be care and flat cars About two hundred yards from the tip of the peninsula is a cooling base for ships with an overhead travelling crane with a runway of seventy five to one hundred yards r In this navel anchorage and wharfege were noted the following vessels from treat to east 1 naval transport vessel 1 navy oiler 3 PG type craft Flat stack aft of superstructure Single gun mounted toward 7 DE- type craft with cutting prow and raked hull 4 destroyers with Japaneektype single raked stack aft and a five-inch gun turret mounted forward e Here were noted four destroyers of the type mentioned in paragraph r t Dotted lines indicate the course of a oergo vessel which appeared to be about half loaded 7 In all thirty thee cargo result were noted the majority
